How I Use Helium 10 to Uncover Low-Competition KDP Niches Fast!

There are many ways to look for high demand but low competition Amazon KDP niches (book ideas) but the fastest way is using a tool like Helium 10.

How I Find KDP Niches Using Helium 10

I use Helium 10′ black box tool. All you need is to enter a seed keyword and click on find keyword ideas.

For this specific example, I typed “word searches for kids” as I was looking for low competition word search book ideas.

As you can see, the magnet tool is showing me search volume for this keyword along with magnet IQ Score and CPR.

Just below the keyword, it is also showing me a Keyword Distribution section, which shows a total of 2,213 keywords based on my seed keyword.

This is not all, if you scroll a bit down you see a detailed break down of all these 2,213 keywords in terms of search volume, magnet IQ score, keyword sales, sponsored asins, and competing products.

Now, analyzing over 2k keywords could a lot of time. Luckily, Helium 10 solves this problem by using filters.

There are a dozen of filters I can use to refine this huge keyword list, however, for most of the time I only use two filters;

1. Minimum Search Volume: 500
2. Maximum Competing Products: 3,000

These two filters, make sure that I am only seeing keywords/niche ideas that have a decent demand and a low number of competing products.

By applying these two filters, the massive list of over 2k keywords is now shrunk down to 45 keywords only.

Now the cool, thing is I can sort this list by search volume, keyword sales, IQ score, and competing products. I went ahead and sorted the list by search volume from high to low.

The Niches I Just Found Using This Method

I was able to find below KDP niches by following the research method shared above;

Niche 1: Word Search for Kids Ages 6–8

This niche/keyword has a search volume of 6,022 which indicates a high demand for this type of word search book. There are over 2,000 competing products which means the competition is still low.

Niche 2: Word Search for Kids Ages 8–10

The 2nd niche/keyword has a search volume of 4,463 which is quite high in terms of demand. When it comes to competition, there are just over 1,000 competing products which indicates a low competition for this keyword.

Niche 3: Kids Crossword Puzzles Ages 6–8

Though this keyword is not related to my original keyword (word search of kids), however, it still gives me a potential book idea in a slightly different niche.
