My Favorite Passive Income Ideas 2026

The Make Money Mindshif

After years of struggle, one thing I realized is that there is no quick or easy way to make money online. In other words, there is no push-button system.

I realized that if I wanted to make money, I would have to add value to the marketplace in some way or another. That’s when I stopped thinking about money and started thinking about creating something that people would happily pay for.

After making this crucial mindset shift, I started making consistent money even though the initial amounts were very small.

My Top Passive Income Stream

Out of the dozen+ passive income ideas that I pursued, below are the ones that worked for me and that I still follow to make consistent passive income online.

1. Self Publihsing (Aamzon KDP)

I have been creating and selling books on Amazon since 2017, and I still make monthly income from this passive income model.

Self-publishing on Amazon is one of my favorite side hustles and makes a substantial chunk of my monthly income. I create high-value, medium-content books that solve specific problems for my audience, and I earn book royalties in return.

2. Affiliate Marketing

This is the second passive income idea that works for me, and I have been doing this for 6+ years. It all started when I began getting some results with my first income stream (self-publishing).

I have a YouTube channel that I started back in 2017, where I began posting videos about Amazon KDP. That’s when I came across various KDP tools and resources, and I became affiliated with a few of them initially.

Years later, I’m now affiliated with some of the top Amazon KDP brands, including Book Bolt, Self Publishing Titans, Helium 10, and a couple more.

Affiliate marketing brings me almost 50% or more of my monthly income, but it’s not totally passive. I do have to create videos and blog posts to generate affiliate sales.

3. Digital Products

In early 2020, I started listing freebies on Gumroad with the “pay what you want” feature enabled. Later on, I added some paid products as well.

Though the income from these Gumroad digital products is not close to the previous two methods, it does add up toward the monthly total.

Final Thoughts

Making money online is real and it works for many. But the key is to pick one idea, stick with it for a long time, and focus on delivering real value.

Self-publishing on Amazon KDP, affiliate marketing, and selling digital products are the 3 methods that actually worked for me and I’m still building on them today.
