I used Logic Rails to create a 100-puzzle train track book with answer pages in minutes. Here’s how the software works, what I found when researching the niche on Amazon, and what KDP publishers should know before getting started.

Recently, I came across a new puzzle-book creation tool called Logic Rails. It focuses on train track puzzles, a type of logic puzzle that I hadn’t explored in my own publishing workflow before.

So I decided to test it.

I used the software to create a 100-puzzle book, including solutions, and researched the competition on Amazon to see whether this niche was worth investigating further.

In this Logic Rails review, I’ll walk you through what I found, how the software works, and why train track puzzle books caught my attention as a potential KDP niche in 2026.

What Are Train Track Puzzle Books?

Train track puzzles are logic puzzles in which the solver must connect tracks on a grid according to the puzzle’s rules. Depending on the puzzle, the route may form an open path or a closed loop.

These books offer a different experience from traditional word searches, sudoku, and number puzzles.

They also give publishers another type of logic puzzle to explore when building a puzzle-book catalog.

What caught my attention was the relatively small number of competing books I found for the specific keyword train track puzzle book during my research.

Could this be an opportunity for KDP publishers? I wanted to look beyond the keyword itself and examine the actual search results.

Is Train Track Puzzle Books a Low-Competition KDP Niche?

I started with Amazon’s search bar and entered the keyword “train track puzzle book.”

I then used Titans Pro, a Chrome extension that helps me analyze Amazon search results and evaluate potential book ideas.

Here is what the data showed me during my research for this post:

  • Search results: Approximately 201 results.
  • Demand score: 7.
  • Opportunity score: 9.
  • Exact-match books on the first page: None, according to the tool.
  • Individually published books on the first page: 12.
  • Average bestseller rank: Above 150,000.
  • Average reviews: Around 43.

These figures caught my attention because they suggested that the keyword had some demand while the number of directly competing books appeared relatively limited.

However, there is an important distinction here. Titans Pro’s demand and opportunity scores are estimates, not guarantees of actual sales. The number of Amazon search results is also not a complete measure of competition.

I wanted to see whether there was additional evidence that people were buying these books.

Recently published books caught my attention

I examined several train track puzzle books appearing in the search results.

One book had been published in June 2026 and already had 51 reviews when I checked it. Another, published in August 2026, had 35 reviews and a 4.6-star rating. I also found a more recently published book with two reviews.

Their listed prices were around $9.99 to $10.99.

These examples suggested that at least some books in this niche were attracting buyers. But reviews alone cannot establish how many copies a book sells or how profitable it is.

I also checked Amazon’s autocomplete suggestions. I found variations such as:

  • Train track puzzle
  • Train track puzzle books for adults
  • Train track puzzle book for kids
  • Train track puzzle book 400

These variations gave me more keyword ideas to investigate.

For me, that is the interesting part of niche research. I don’t want to rely on a single keyword or a tool’s opportunity score. I want to look at the actual books, publication dates, reviews, prices, and related searches before deciding whether an idea deserves my time.

Based on the results I observed, train track puzzle books looked like a niche worth exploring further. I would not call it completely untapped, but it appeared to have fewer directly competing books than many established puzzle categories.

And that brings me to the software I used to create my sample book.

Logic Rails Review: What Does the Software Do?

Logic Rails is a specialized tool for creating train track puzzle books. The version I demonstrated includes a book builder that generates the puzzles and their solutions in a downloadable PDF.

What I particularly liked was that I didn’t have to create each puzzle manually.

The software lets me configure the book and generate a collection of puzzles in one go.

Here are the main features I demonstrated.

1. Generate up to 100 puzzles in one PDF

The book builder allows you to specify the number of puzzles, up to 100 in a single PDF.

If you want to create a larger collection, you can generate multiple PDFs and combine them into a longer book.

You can also choose how many puzzles appear on each page: one, two, or four.

For my demonstration, I selected one puzzle per page and generated a 100-puzzle collection.

2. Choose the puzzle type and grid size

Logic Rails offers different settings to customize the puzzles.

You can choose between open routes, closed loops, or a mixture of both. You can also adjust the proportion of open routes.

The available grid sizes include 6 × 6, 7 × 7, 8 × 8, 10 × 10, 12 × 12, and 15 × 15.

There are two difficulty settings, allowing you to create easier or harder puzzles.

These options give you some flexibility when planning books for different audiences and skill levels.

3. Customize the page layout

You can change the puzzle title, heading text, and font size. The software also provides options for page numbering and the starting page number.

This is useful if you want to create multiple puzzle PDFs and combine them into a single book without restarting the page numbering for each file.

You can preview the PDF before downloading the complete book, which lets you check the layout before moving to the next stage.

4. Generate solutions automatically

This is one of the most useful features for puzzle-book publishing.

Logic Rails generates the solution pages along with the puzzles. You can choose to display one, two, four, six, or eight solutions per page.

I selected four solutions per page for my example.

That meant I didn’t have to create a separate answer key manually for every puzzle.

Once the files were generated, I could open the PDF and review the puzzle pages and solutions.

How I Created a 100-Page Train Track Puzzle Book

The process I demonstrated was straightforward.

First, I opened the book builder and configured the title, trim size, number of puzzles, and number of puzzles per page.

I selected the grid size and difficulty, adjusted the heading settings, and configured the solution pages.

Then I generated a preview to check how the book would look.

Once I was satisfied with the preview, I downloaded the complete PDF.

The result was a collection of 100 train track puzzles with solutions included at the end.

This was the main reason I wanted to test Logic Rails. Creating this particular type of puzzle manually would require more work than simply generating standard arithmetic worksheets.

A specialized tool can remove much of that repetitive production work.

However, generating the interior is only one part of publishing a book. I would still review the output, check that the puzzles and solutions are correct, prepare the front matter, design a suitable cover, and ensure the final files meet Amazon KDP’s current requirements.

You also need to choose an appropriate title, keywords, and audience. The software can help create the product, but it cannot guarantee that the product will sell.

How Do You Publish a Logic Rails Book on Amazon KDP?

Once you have generated and reviewed your puzzle PDF, the next step is preparing it for publication.

In my demonstration, the software offered several trim sizes, including 6 × 9 inches, 8 × 10 inches, and 8.5 × 11 inches.

You would choose the size that suits your intended book and verify that the finished interior meets KDP’s specifications.

The basic publishing workflow is:

  1. Generate the puzzles and solutions using Logic Rails.
  2. Review the interior and verify the solutions.
  3. Create a title page and any other front matter you need.
  4. Combine the pages into the final interior PDF.
  5. Design a book cover that fits your chosen trim size and page count.
  6. Upload the interior and cover to Amazon KDP.
  7. Review the book using KDP’s previewer and correct any issues before publishing.

You don’t need an elaborate cover design to get started, but it should look professional and communicate the book’s purpose clearly.

Most importantly, don’t publish a generated book without checking it. The quality of the final product is still your responsibility.

Logic Rails Pricing and Optional Upgrades

At the time of writing this post, the front-end version of Logic Rails is priced at $27.

This version includes the book builder I used to generate the train track puzzle book.

The software also offers optional upgrades.

One upgrade provides a way to build your own puzzles using individual track pieces. This gives you more direct control over puzzle construction.

Another upgrade adds access to other puzzle types, including Hashi or Bridges, Takuzu/Binary, and Shikaku/Rectangles, as described in the software.

These upgrades are optional, so I would start by evaluating the core book builder and decide whether you need the additional features.

Pricing and available features can change, so check the current offer before purchasing.

Is Logic Rails Worth It for KDP Publishers?

Based on my demonstration, Logic Rails looks useful for publishers who want to create train track puzzle books without constructing every puzzle manually.

Here is how I would assess it.

What I like:

  • It generates a complete collection of puzzles quickly.
  • It creates solution pages automatically.
  • You can adjust grid sizes and difficulty.
  • You can customize headings, page numbering, and other layout settings.
  • You can preview the book before downloading it.

What I would keep in mind:

  • Generating a PDF doesn’t guarantee that the book will sell.
  • You still need to research keywords and competing books.
  • The final interior and solutions should be checked before publishing.
  • You need to prepare the cover and any additional pages yourself.
  • Optional upgrades add features but aren’t necessarily required for the basic workflow.

I tested the book-building process, but I haven’t established that books created with Logic Rails will generate a particular amount of income. I would approach it as a production tool, not a shortcut to guaranteed KDP profits.

Should You Explore This New KDP Niche in 2026?

If you publish puzzle books on Amazon KDP, train track puzzles may be worth adding to your research list.

The keyword data I observed showed relatively few direct competitors, and I found examples of recently published books that had already attracted reviews.

That makes the niche interesting, especially if you’re looking for a different type of puzzle book rather than publishing another product in a crowded category.

But I wouldn’t rush to publish dozens of books simply because a niche looks promising.

I’d begin with keyword research, study the existing books, identify a specific audience, and create one well-prepared product. Then I’d monitor its performance and use what I learn to decide whether to expand.

Early entry can be an advantage when a niche grows, but it is not a guarantee of success. Competition can change quickly, and demand can be difficult to estimate from search results alone.

For me, the combination of a niche worth investigating and a tool that simplifies production is what makes Logic Rails interesting.
